GOLD
What type of Gold items do you buy?
At Tulsa Gold & Gems, we pay you the most for your scrap gold, gold jewelry, gold coins, dental gold, and even gold bullion and rounds. We will evaluate your gold items and give you the highest price for the value of your items. Typically, items made of gold are marked with a karat weight. The term “karat” in relation to gold is the measure of gold purity by mass. Inspection of your gold pieces should indicate a specific karat weight. The price you receive for your gold depends on the karat value that it contains.
We do not buy anything gold plated. These items are generally marked “plated” or H.G.E. (Heavy Gold Electroplate).
Common Karat markings found on gold jewelery:
- For 10 karat – 10k, 10kt, 417 ( 41.7% pure gold)
- For 14 karat – 14k, 14kt, 585 ( 58.5% pure gold)
- For 18 karat – 18k, 18kt, 750 ( 75.0% pure gold)
- For 22 karat – 22k, 22kt, 916 ( 91.6% pure gold)

WATCHES
What types of watches do you buy?
Many watches are made out of precious metals, however, in today’s mass market, a large portion are either plated or simply gold in color. These are brands like Fossil, Citizen, Seiko etc. The brands that are considered fine watches, which we purchase and loan against, include: Rolex, Cartier, Piaget etc. Please bring any box and/or papers with your fine watch in order to get the best price. If you happen to have an old pocket watch, it might be plated or gold filled, but it can be hard to tell. Bring it into Tulsa Gold & Gems and our experts will evaluate it.
PLATINUM
What other types of precious metals do you buy?
In addition to gold and silver, we also buy platinum and palladium.
Platinum is silvery-white in color and is often mistaken for white gold. It is denser and more difficult to fabricate than gold, due to its higher melting point. One feature of platinum is that it doesn’t fade or tarnish. It is thirty times more rare then gold, and is more durable than other jewelry metals due to it’s density. It doesn’t wear away or change it’s shape, which is perfect for a lifetime of wear.
Platinum jewelry normally contains the following markings: 900Pt, 950 Plat, or Plat.
